Goudhurst Village Pre-school is a charitable organisation providing care and education for 2 – 5 year olds in the local area and beyond. Our morning sessions are from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. with an optional lunch club until 1 p.m. Afternoon sessions run until 3.30 p.m. We are based in the heart of the village next to the children’s playground in Back Lane.
The Church Rooms is a light and spacious venue with a main hall where we set up new activities and a variety of toys to engage our children every morning. We also have double doors leading to a decked veranda with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside where we take the children on nature walks and have built our own vegetable patch. We also have a wonderful Woodland Experience Area for the children to enjoy too. It is an idyllic and safe environment in which to play, grow and learn.
Children are eligible for Kent County Council Early Years Funding – 15 ‘Free Early Education’ hours of pre-school time – the term after their third birthday and there is funding available for eligible two year olds. We also provide a limited number of 30 hours funded places. If we are closed due to a Bank Holiday, funded children will be offered alternative sessions to compensate this shortfall in hours. We are also registered to accept Childcare Vouchers. We are Ofsted registered “Outstanding” and have a well planned and stimulating curriculum, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance, which supports the all round development of your child.
We offer your child a chance to learn some basic French, Spanish, signing, music and cookery, as well as organise optional outings to places of interest. We will also be inviting guests (human and animal) into the setting to share their skills and participate in the children’s learning, but most of all we have fun!
Our staff are well-trained, friendly and caring. We encourage your involvement as parents and know that choosing the right pre-school is an important decision. Our ethos is one of inclusion and diversity whereby every child is valued and their individuality recognised and cherished.
