Our sessions are held in the Church Rooms next to the village playground where we have far-reaching views over the local countryside from our decked veranda.

This outside space is ideal to be able to fully carry out our policy of free flow, whereby the children choose of their own accord to take part in staff supervised indoor or outdoor activities.

GVPS-70As well as the decked area, which will be used for our gardening patch, ride-on toys and sandpit and water play for example, we have use of the actual playground that promotes the children’s climbing skills and provides an ideal venue for our Easter Egg hunt and Pirate Day. In addition, we have the Glebe Field for parachute games, teddy bears’ picnics and our annual sports day.

Our main room has dedicated space for messy play, role-play and quiet time. Equipment and activities are rotated frequently so the children’s interest is always engaged. There is disabled access for all our facilities along with a disabled toilet.

We have a kitchen for preparing your child’s daily snacks and promote healthy eating by offering fruit and vegetables, some planted and grown by the children themselves in our vegetable and flower garden below the decking area. We also have a new Forest Fun Area where the children can enjoy building dens, playing in the mud kitchen, listening to stories or participating in a group activity in our story circle, bug hunting and playing outside in our very own patch of woodland.

Our toys and equipment have been purposefully chosen with our children’s age ranges and developmental needs in mind, as well as facilitating development specific to the Early Years Foundation Stage’s seven areas of learning.
